Home Features RPG Elden Ring Image credit From Software A little stuck on Elden Ring dungeons? The Lands Between offer a plethora of opportunities to delve into deep and dark places in search of loot and nasty new bosses opens in new tab to fight. These Elden Ring dungeons also provide an excellent chance to gather runes and gain levels, so strengthening you to face the main story's demi-gods and claim their Great Runes opens in new tab.Dungeons aren't particularly hard to find, since they are usually nestled into cliffs, and you can even activate the statues you'll find to point the way to nearby catacombs. But some of them are definitely easy to miss if you aren't looking from just the right angle, and yet some of the game's most important materials are found in dungeons early on, such as the glovewort you use to upgrade ashes in Spirit Tuning opens in new tab, or the Smithing Stones required to make your weapon this Elden Ring dungeons list I'll run through all of the dungeons in the starting area of Limgrave and how to complete them, as well as what rewards they give you. I'll also go through the different types of dungeons you can find in the world of Elden Ring dungeon typesThere are lots of different styles of dungeon in Elden Ring—as there should be in a dark fantasy game. Here are each of the types that generally describe what you'll find in the Lands BetweenCaves If you're looking for flora or fauna, these are your best bet, and most of Elden Ring's poison dungeons are located in caves. The first one you're likely to come across is the Groveside Cave with the Beastman of Farum These dungeons are a great location for finding Smithing Stones, and are generally filled with old miners. Limgrave Tunnel is the closest to the start and is a good place to grab weapon upgrade materials straight These dungeons are usually a little more complex than the others, but also usually reward you with Spirit Ashes and the glovewort you need to upgrade them. The usual layout for these is navigating your way through Imps or Skeletons to find a lever that opens the boss door. The first you'll likely find are the Stormfoot Graves The hardest dungeons in Elden Ring. There are only a few of these located in various regions, and they are tough due to the chariot puzzles that require you to run from alcove to alcove so you don't get mowed down. They do offer some great rewards, though. The first of these is the Fringefolk Hero's Grave dungeon in the Stranded Graveyard where you start, but you'll need a Stonesword Key opens in new tab to unlock Ring dungeons All the Limgrave dungeons we've found so farDungeons contain useful materials—catacomb dungeons, for instance, give you Glovewort, a flower that is used to improve the strength of your summons with the Elden Ring Spirit Calling Bell opens in new tab once you unlock Spirit Tuning opens in new tab. Aside from that, they can also provide you with unique weapons and talismans. Most dungeons are pitch-black, so you'll want to buy yourself a torch from the merchant in the Church of Elleh before you set off to explore one. You can also get a hands-free lantern from the merchant in the Lakes of Liurnia or in the south of the Weeping Peninsula area. One final thing to note you can turn off flame turrets by hitting Hero's Grave location. Image credit From SoftwareFringefolk Hero's Grave opens in new tab Rewards Golden seed, Banished Knight Oleg summon, Erdtree's Favour talismanThis dungeon is accessible at the Stranded Graves with a Stonesword Key. This is one of the toughest dungeons in Cave location. Image credit From SoftwareGroveside Cave Rewards Flamedrake TalismanThis is found north of the Church of Elleh past the turtle pond, with soldiers scattered around its entrance. Fight through the wolves, while staying wary of those sleeping around the cave, and you'll soon reach the boss. The Beastman of Farum Azula is very easy, and you can stun-lock him with attacks, so just dodge/block and deal damage when you can. Limgrave Tunnels location. Image credit From SoftwareLimgrave Tunnels Rewards Roar Medallion, Smithing StonesThis dungeon is at the northernmost tip of the lake to the right of the Stranded Graveyard. Head down the lift and enter into a chamber with miners. The ones digging aren't hostile unless attacked, but the ones standing around will throw rocks or try to hit you. Head down the platform, then through the tunnel to another lift. When the lift is halfway down, jump off onto the platform you can see. Enter the next chamber and head left. Be wary of the lantern bearers who can spew fire and make the other miners aggressive towards you. At the bottom of the lift, go straight ahead to find the Stonedigger Troll boss. He's quite easy, just stick around his legs as with any troll, and be wary of his downward smash attacks. He drops the Roar Medallion that enhances breath and roar attacks. This dungeon is also a great way of getting Smithing Stones early Catacombs location. Image credit From SoftwareRewards Noble Sorcerer's AshesThis one's pretty easy as long as you watch out for the usual imps pretending to be statues, or hanging from the walls. Head through until you get to the flame turret, then run to the right to be faced with another flame turret. Then do the same again. It's worth noting that behind that first turret is an item that lets you say "Hello!". After the second flame turret, climb the ladder to a balcony with two imps, and the Wandering Noble Ashes nearby. Drop down to the platform, then drop down again to find a level and open the door to the boss. The Erdtree Burial Watchdog is pure nightmare fuel, but easy to beat. Deathtouched Catacombs location. Image credit FromSoftwareDeathtouched CatacombsRewards Assassin's Crimson Dagger talisman, Uchigatana, and DeathrootYou can find this dungeon set into the cliff to the east of the Warmaster's Shack on Stormhill. It's a pretty simple run with no real traps, you just have to aware of the bones scattered around that transform into skeletons when you walk by. The skeletons themselves aren't tough, especially if you bring a weapon with holy damage. Head through until you find the lever, pull it, and head back to the boss door at the start. Like his undead pals, the Black Knife Assassin boss is suceptible to holy damage, and will struggle to deal with any mobs you summon against Cave location. Image credit From SoftwareCoastal Cave Rewards Tailoring ToolsYou can find this dungeon located in a cave entrance on the beach directly facing the island in the southwest. The first room is filled with goblin-like creatures, who will scream at you before attacking, giving you a chance to strike first. Kill them off then head into the boss. The Demi-Human Chiefs are two aggressive beast-like creatures that run on all fours but can be easily cheesed with the Wild Strikes skill and by fighting them separately. If you're struggling, summon Old Knight Istvan to help. This dungeon is important since it gives you access to the island south of Cave location. Image credit From SoftwareMurkwater Cave Rewards Cloth Garb and Cloth TrousersHead to the north side of Lake where you fight Agheel and go under the bridge where the skeletons are. Further up, on the left side you'll see a cave, though you'll be invaded by Bloody Finger Nerijus, so watch out. Once Yura has appeared to help you deal with him, head into the cave. This dungeon is very easy. Either be sneaky and watch out for tripwires or just kill all of the bandits in there. Head down the left corridor to the boss door. The boss of this dungeon is good ol' Patches opens in new tab. Open the chest and he'll try to rob you. However, if you get his health down to half, he'll surrender and you can talk to him. Murkwater Catacombs location. Image credit From SoftwareMurkwater Catacombs Rewards Battle HammerHead north up the river from Murkwater Cave and turn left into a cavern filled with bodies, and gravestones sticking out of the walls. Go to the end and you'll find a set of double doors that let you into the catacombs. When you head down from the site of grace, watch on the left for an Imp pretending to be a statue, as well as one hiding on the roof. Straight ahead of you will be a trap tile, and two imps throwing knives. You can use the trap to kill them, or go in close—just be aware of the imp hiding around the left corner. Pull the lever. Head back and turn left, looking out for another trap two imps pretending to be statues on either side of the door, and one to the left around the corner. Head through to fight the Grave Warden Duelist. This hammer-hefting warrior isn't too hard to beat if you stay close to him, though watch out for his grab attack in the second phase. Highroad Cave location. Image credit From SoftwareHighroad Cave Rewards Blue Dancer Charm From the Murkwater Catacombs, head north along the river filled with the giant tentacle creatures. You'll have to use the spirit spring to jump out to access it. At the very end, where the river meets the sea, you'll find a cave entrance on the left. Head in and drop down the hole using the platforms. You'll enter into a room with another hole and wolves. Kill the wolves and drop down this next hole using the platforms. There isn't a platform for the last jump, but you can roll onto the lip of the hole before dropping down. Now there are two tunnels. Head right into the fire-lit room with two more wolves. Head left through the barrels to find a point where you can drop down on a white wolf in the next room, but watch out for the wolf behind you. Head through the cave arch into the next room for a view of a cave cistern. Descend the platforms watching out for bats, especially from the cave by the waterfall on the left of the path. Next, drop off the waterfall, jump to the broken pillar and fight the bats to find the Shamshir weapon. In the next room, you'll find one of the giant tentacle creatures. They are tanky, but throwing Kukri from range absolutely destroys them, so they appear to be weak to bleed damage. Head through the tunnel on the right until you're back in the main chamber, then drop to the left down by the waterfall and carry on through the passage to find the boss. The Guardian Golem is the same as the ones you find on the bridge towards the divine tower of Limgrave. Like Tower Knight from Demon Souls, you can hit his ankles to make him fall over, but watch out for his stomps, and the attack where he leans down to breathe fire. Elden Ring Carian Study Hall location and pedestal puzzle The Carian Study Hall is connected to one of the Divine Towers in Elden Ring, and you’ll need to seek it out eventually. This area can be accessed fairly early – when you’re tackling the Academy of Raya Lucaria – and holds a handful of valuable items, though you won’t be able to complete everything here immediately. In this Elden Ring guide we’ll be breaking down the Carian Study Hall’s location, how to navigate it to claim all of the treasures inside, and how to activate that mysterious pedestal on the bottom floor. We have even more Elden Ring tips and guides, including how to complete Ranni’s quest which connects to this location. Carian Study Hall location The Carian Study Hall is a straight shot East from the Academy of Raya Lucaria – you’ll be able to see the Divine Tower of Liurnia connecting to the Study Hall on the map. You’ll need to make your way through the passage between two mountains to get close. Luckily there’s a Site of Grace inside the Study Hall to make returning faster. Carian Study Hall walkthrough, Preceptor Miriam fight At the Site of Grace you’ll find a pedestal where “something” can be used. We’ll explain that later. Walk behind the wall here and use the lift to ascend. There’s an item to your right – and a trap. You’ll be assaulted by ghostly warriors on your way through the tower – they’re not strong, but there will be a lot of them. As you move up the stairs you’ll discover ghosts aren’t your only problem. Preceptor Miriam is at the top of the stairs and will be a tough battle if you’ve only recently cleared Raya Lucaria. Preceptor Miriam will use a large variety of spells as you ascend the tower, and keep warping up the tower herself to lure you up, while making your ascent very difficult. You can shut off Miriam’s spellcasting with projectiles, but you should attempt to do as much damage as possible. Watch for the powerful greatbow magic ability she has and the orb that shoots multiple magic projectiles which should keep you at bay. To take down Miriam you really need to be aggressive. The greatbow charge animation is a great time to approach, as you can predictably roll through the attack to dodge, or get behind Miriam while she’s still charging up. Get to the top of the stairs in the main chamber and you’ll find a Carian Glintstone Staff, which is nice for casters. Head through the next chamber and use the lift. This next room is a large circular balcony. This room will spawn plenty of ghostly soldiers, and Miriam will warp around the room. You really need to finish her in this room before you continue. Just chase her at the right times and use jump attacks or backstabs, if possible. Miriam will drop the Magic Downpour spell – that projectiles orb she often used – once you finally down her. The end of this area, for now, is climbing the ladder to ascend to the rafters. Climb another ladder on the rafters – while watching for rats – to find the Cerulean Seed Talisman. This is the final valuable piece of treasure to find here. Carian Study Hall pedestal - Carian Study Hall Inverted The only thing left to do is use that pedestal on the bottom floor. You will need to use the Carian Inverted Statue obtained from Ranni’s questline in our guide. Using the statue on the pedestal unlocks the Carian Study Hall Inverted, which is exactly what it sounds like, and opens up a brand new way to explore the study hall. Read our Carian Study Hall Inverted guide for more. If you need even more Elden Ring tips, make sure you also check out our full Elden Ring guide and walkthrough. Glintstone Dragon Adula is a Boss in Elden Ring. This Elden Ring Glintstone Dragon Adula Guide features boss locations, tips, strategies and videos on how to defeat Adula easily, as well as boss stats and lore for Adula. Glintstone Dragon Adula is a huge dragon boss found in Liurnia of the Lakes. Adula is first encountered roaming the Three Sisters sub-region in the north. After dealing enough damage to it, the dragon will teleport to the Cathedral of Manus Celes in the south, which can only be accessed after defeating Astel, Naturalborn of the Void. Adula used to be an enemy of the academy until Ranni fought and won against the dragon, after which they were sworn into her service. This is an optional boss as players don't need to defeat it to advance in Elden Ring. After taking Glintstone Dragon Adula to about half health at the Three Sisters, they will fly off to their next location. They have high magic resistance, so physical attacks are recommended when fighting Adula. Do note that defeating them at the Three Sisters will reward you with the runes but not any of the special item drops tied to this boss. They drop three Dragon Hearts and Adula's Moonblade upon defeat. Bosses are unique and challenging Enemies that can be encountered all over the Lands Between. Great Enemy bosses can drop unique Spirit Ashes, Weapons, Spells, and other various Items. Adula, a devourer of sorcerers, was bested by Ranni and subsequently swore a knightly oath to her Dark Moon. For example, if a resistance is 100 you must deal 100 points of whatever aux buildup to trigger it. Note that these go down over time, and increase each time the effect procs. Elden Ring Glintstone Dragon Adula Boss Guide Glintstone Dragon Adula Boss Video Guide [video coming soon] Glintstone Dragon Adula Fight Strategy The Best Tips for Glintstone Dragon Adula This Boss has high magic resistance so try to use Physical Damage if you can. Use the Eternal Darkness spell to draw in the homing crystals, making this fight more easier. MOUNTED STRATEGY EASIEST The easiest strategy is to get on your mount and ride through his legs swiping his wings and feet as you go, trying to keep moving as much as possible. Ride away when he flies off, locate him once he lands again, and then make your way to him, taking a wider arc if he breathes fire so as not to get hit. You can load up on HP flasks for this strategy and put on your heaviest armor, since weight does not matter when you are mounted. When the boss first spawns or when they reset their position, they get stuck in a long animation giving players a good window to get free damage in. You can attempt to use this to ease the fight by bringing the fight away from the church causing the dragon to reset its position, but not its hp bar. MELEE STRATEGY This can be an extremely difficult fight for melee characters because hitting the head of the Dragon does the most damage, and it's hard to reach just like past From Software Dragon fights. Using a long reaching Weapon like the Bastard Sword, Ordovis' Greatsword, Spear, or Lance can make this markedly easier, so I suggest using one of them. If not aiming for the head, both the legs and the wings make for good accessible hitzones to aim for, the wings are especially safe from tailswipes and foot stomps. In the beginning of the fight, Adula will undergo a lengthy roaring animation. This is your chance to do as much damage as possible and stagger him, allowing you to perform a poise deathblow. If he raises up in the air to breath fire directly downward you need to roll away from him as fast as you can. This is a very difficult attack to dodge, and will likely kill you more than just about any other attack. If he raises up in the air and hangs there for a second NOT BREATHING MAGIC MIST, then he will pounce on you. Make sure you wait until the last second and dodge away from him, and then attack for some easy damage. If you end up behind him for any length of time, he will likely do a tail swipe, make sure you Block it or roll through it. They will lift their tail up and to their left before the swipe, however do not rely on this to time a roll as the dragon sometimes throws in a small delay before the swipe to catch players off guard. When Glintstone Dragon Adula breathes fire from the ground their head is lowered and mostly stationary, you can get underneath them and hit their head during this time. Be wary of the glintstone shard breath attack as the boss will do mostly the same motion but the breath effect is different and the shards will come flying at you from whatever direction they were fire in, get ready to block or dodge them. MAGIC AND RANGED STRATEGY Sorcery easy mode Stand inside the cathedral and use Night Maiden's Mist. Standing in the middle between the entrance and the nearby site of grace ensure their breath attack cannot damage you. Sip some tea while your favorite true damage sorcery does all the work. Since the dragon is strong against magic, a good spell to use against it is Rock Sling, which deals good damage and can break poise. If you're feeling brave, you can use Meteorite or Meteorite of Astel to deal massive damage to it, but be wary of its stomps. The strategy for this fight is somewhat similar whether you're ranged or melee, so you'll want to play in a similar manner avoiding the same attacks. However, it's easier to lock onto his head and range him with Glintstone Stars or Glintstone Pebble if you have either. I highly recommend using a Shield in your off-hand so you can Block when needed in between casts. And you'll want to have more FP Flasks so that you can use as much magic as possible, which means you won't be able to heal, so try not to get hit anymore than you have to. Remember that you can use Spirit Ashes to help you out, with someone else being focused by the boss you can freely deal damage and not worry as much about dodging attacks. Watch out for the glintstone breath attack as the seeking shards can be troublesome to deal with, use the environment to take cover or a shield to block the attacks. Lastly, you can fire off spells or use your Bow easily from horseback, allowing you more mobility while staying out of harms way. It might take you a bit longer to beat him this way, but it's definitely safer! Glintstone Dragon Adula Attacks & Counters Attack Description Counter Adula's Moonblade Glintstone Dragon Adula flies up and backwards then conjures a cold magic greatsword held by their teeth, they then swoop down to slash it at their target, releasing multiple cold shard projectiles that apply frostbite to those hit. Watch for Adula to turn their head to their left and move back and to the left of the dragon to dodge the main sweeping attack as well as many of the projectiles that fly out. Alternatively, if you are close enough, you can move under their body to avoid the sword entirely. Seeking Shards Attack Glintstone Dragon Adula does a long grounded breath attack that does not shoot flames out, instead they fire seeking Glintstone Shards that fly towards the player. Look for obstacles in the environment to hide behind and take cover. The best of these is the large rock jutting out just in front of the ruins opposite to the Cathedral of Manus keep track of the shards and dodge or block the attacks when they reach you. Sweeping Dragon Breath Grounded The Dragon's Mouth will glow before they lower their head and spray out a wide breath from their left to their right Quickly run underneath the dragon's right side or skirt widely to avoid the breath. Sweeping Dragon Breath Flying The Dragon's Mouth will glow before they fly upwards into the air then spray their dragon breath widely in front of them from their left to their right. Watch for when the mouth starts to glow to quickly move away or rush underneath to get out of range of the attack. Foot Stomp The Boss raises their foot then stomps it down dealing damage in an AOE around the stomp. Move away from the raised foot or double-jump while on horseback. Flying Stomp The Dragon flies up in the air and hovers for an extended time before stomping down on their target Move away and stay moving to avoid the stompAlternatively rush to get behind them as this will bait them into stomping behind you. Tail Swipe The Dragon lifts their tail to the left before sweeping and spinning around, This attack is often used when you are behind the dragon.
